Gearing up for AIDS/LifeCycle 5

It's been a while since missmorte wrote here that on all of LiveJournal there only seemed to be two AIDS/LifeCycle participants. That number's doubled in the meantime with me and stoneself and I know of at least two more, kniwt and a67peach who if I were a community maintainer I'd invite them (though because I work here "suggest this community to a friend" is now on the feature wishlist)

Training rides have now started and this year I'm getting more involved and become a training ride leader (my leader profile) along with some friends I made this past year through training.

We started talking about it during the ride as a joke, like the Category 2 training rides series, we'd have a Panda Express training ride series where each week we'd ride to a slightly further Panda Express. We were encouraged to go through with it by our friends with the Foundation who knew us to be exactly the kind of safe, courteous riders looking out for others that they were looking for.

Hopefully this post will kick some new life into this community and get some discussion going.

Anyone can join the community (at least that is how I set it up, if that isn't the case let me know!).

Glad to see some more Ljers participating!

Yes, this community is open to anyone to join, you set it up correctly, but only a community maintainer can invite other users to join. As just a regular community member, there isn't a way for me to invite other members join in as well. That's the feature I added to the list.

If you are willing, I'd like to help maintain this community, give the design a bit more on an ALC feel and be able to invite other ALC participants to join until we've added that feature.

Thank you,

I just got back from a training ride with one of your fellow Team Apocalypse riders, Shelley. I was taking some friends out and happened to pick the same time and place as she did and even though I was supposed to have my in field ride leader evaluation, she's going to send in the paperwork anyway because whether I was officially leading the ride or not, I was doing a good job at it.

Shelley is so fun to ride with.

When I signed up on Day 5 this year a friend who hadn't ridden one of these since the first AIDS/LifeCycle told me after three consecutive years of AIDSRIDE's (I think there was a year he did a few) lead to a sort of donor fatigue as the fundraising seemed to never end.

But there's no Panda Express in Point Reyes Station!

Oh wait, I'll bet that's the idea, isn't it ... :)
