AIDS/LifeCycle Userpic

I noticed kniwt made a userpic out of the AIDS/LifeCycle logo, but it looks like it didn't get scaled down perfectly and got a bit jagged in the process. It's a good idea and I've got photoshop, so I took another go at it.

The source image on their site isn't the best because it's a JPEG, but a little work cleaning it up and resizing worked pretty well. The one in this post is 84x100, but if you want a square one, I also made a 100x100 version which is the same logo, but sits in a transparent square so it keeps the same width as the rest of your userpics if you're like me and have all 100x100.

So that I'm not mucking with their trademark, here are the logo usage terms which set out that we agree to use the logo only to support the ALC mission and only to reflect well upon the ALC, SF AIDS Foundation and LA Gay & Lesbian Center.

OK, caught me being lazy. :)

Thanks for the cleaned-up pic!

I wasn't even suspecting laziness. I've met a lot of people who don't know a lot of about web graphics and how to fix things like that. I figured you uploaded the original and even when it came out a bit jagged figured "it's not perfect, but it's there"

I'm a designer and nit-pick over this kind of stuff and I'm glad I could provide you and everyone else a better graphic.

I'm tempted to respond "It's only LiveJournal," but I know better than to say that to you. :)

Actually, when it was a userpic that I only used on my friends list, it wasn't that big a deal. But yes, if I'm going to use it more widely, I should use the nice one, which I've started doing.

As for my all my ALC posts being friends-only, well, that's an interesting story.

well... I'm not quite the userpic design police (lets see 8 million users x 3-100 user pics...) this is just a cause close to my heart and I saw something I could do to help you and others on here with awareness and fundraise and pitched in.

I'm not as much a visual designer as and interaction designer anyway, which is much more focused on easy of use and making software more understandable to end users.

I've spent most of my time at Six Apart (LJ is one of our applications) working mostly on TypePad, which doesn't have this community aspect to it and I'm finding it really interesting to watch this community really start to bloom.
